The full results of the third phase of the trial were submitted to the Drug Controller General. This clearance was obtained after that.

According to central government sources, GCGI has initially approved 2-DG. However, if further trial instructions are given, it will be done by the Ministry of Health. This medicine will be used only in case of emergency. It is not coming to the market at the moment. It will be near the hospital. It will be used only in critical patients.
