Question: I am 18 years old. Weight 55 kg, height 5 feet. What kind of diet and exercise should be done to increase height and how long should sleep?

Answer: Things to keep in mind to increase height:

1. Food: The diet throughout the day should be balanced ie high quality meat (fish, meat, eggs, milk, pulses, nuts etc.), caloric complex sugars (foods like rice, bread) and other vitamins and minerals especially calcium rich foods and increase the amount of vitamin D. (Which helps to increase height by increasing bone structure).

2. Sleep: Get enough sleep. This is because growth hormone (HGH hormone) is produced from the pituitary gland of the body during sleep at night. There is a certain amount of sleep per day at different ages from birth, in which case you need 8-10 hours of sleep a night at your age.

3. Exercise: Daily exercise helps in the release of growth hormone, it can be any type of aerobic (rope jumping, jumping, basketball, volleyball, cycling, etc.).
