Eighty-five percent of corona patients do not need hospitalization or special medication to recover. They can recover at home and by following some simple rules.
The director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), India’s highest government medical institution, met in a video conference last Wednesday. Amit Guleria, India’s leading cardiologist and surgeon. Devi Sethi and Surgeon Naresh Trihan.
Doctors attending the seminar urged ordinary Indians not to panic. Dr. Devi Sethi said, “The infection is increasing day by day, but we call on the people to be aware and vigilant without panic. If anyone has early signs of corona, get tested immediately. If it is not possible to get tested quickly, isolate yourself quickly from family members. ‘
He added, ‘The oximeter is very effective in this case. Check your oxygen saturation every six hours. Once the test is done, walk for six minutes, test again. If your oxygen saturation is 94 percent twice, then no problem. If it is less than that, then you need to seek medical help. Because, in order to recover from corona, proper treatment at the right time is very, very necessary. ‘
Dr. meeting. “Most of the corona patients have symptoms like chills, body aches, fever, sore throat and so on,” said Guleria. In some cases, flatulence or stomach problems may occur. Patients with these symptoms may be able to recover with symptomatic treatment. In other words, they can recover through isolation or regular drinking of isolated water, taking paracetamol drugs and vitamin tablets.
“Only 15 per cent of the patients have problems like shortness of breath, high fever, delirium, etc. and in that case they need intensive care and treatment in the hospital.”
India is currently in the throes of a second wave of moving corona. Recently, the number of daily infected patients in India has crossed three lakh, with the number of deaths on the rise. India currently tops the list of countries in the world in terms of daily coronary heart disease and deaths.
Dr. meeting. Trihan said the doctors who are in charge of treating corona patients must understand the patient’s symptoms and physical condition before giving medical advice or prescription.
“Corona’s first aid should start at home,” he said. Patients can be admitted to the hospital only if severe respiratory distress occurs and the doctor prescribes hospitalization.
