At the moment, Windows has sold 6.4 million units of Windows smartphones worldwide. BlackBerry device sales, on the other hand, were 7.1 million. In the same season last year BlackBerry Market share was 5.2% and smartphone sales were 8.9 million. In the case of Windows Phone, the market share and sales were 2.6% and 4 million units, respectively.
According to Gartner’s report, smartphone sales are up 47.5 percent this year compared to the second quarter of 2012. A total of 225 million smartphones have been sold worldwide during this time. Interestingly, this time the smartphone has sold more than the first feature phone. Feature phone sales in the April-June quarter were 210 million. Demand for feature phones has dropped by 21% compared to the same period last year.
Asia was at the forefront of smartphone sales growth, with growth of 74.1%. It is followed by Latin America and Eastern Europe with 55.6% and 31.6%, respectively.
