Under the supervision of former internet giant Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, some non-profit services are going to be shut down again in order to develop new ways. The company is adopting this strategy only to focus on the major services. According to the latest decision, Yahoo applications for message boards, avatars, sports IQs, Clues and BlackBerry devices will be closed from April 1. However, some parts of these services will still be supported by the US search engine.

Although Yahoo’s Finance and Fantasy Sports Message Board is live, it will not be officially updated or supported. BlackBerry users who have already installed the Yahoo app will be able to continue.

Last year, Yahoo appointed Marisa Meyer, a former Google executive, as their CEO. The site’s homepage and email service were recently redesigned as part of the company’s reshuffle.

There is no clear announcement on whether Yahoo will develop another new app for BlackBerry 10 operating system users. In the mobile version of the newly designed site, however, that possibility has faded a bit.

The Yahoo app will no longer be officially downloaded from the BlackBerry set from April 1.

In addition, Yahoo will integrate another 60 to 65 mobile applications of the company and bring in only 12 or 15 apps.
